As a lover of the ocean and Australian landscapes, Antoinette Ferwerda was thrilled to be invited to produce a large-scale private commission for Sea & Sky. The resulting artwork is imbued with a vivid oceanside colour palette drawn from clouds, coastal landforms, an endless horizon and the magical reflections of light on the Bay.
Born in Melbourne in 1971, Antoinette Ferwerda is a renowned Australian artist recognised for a body of work that makes Australian landscapes playful and abstract, joyfully exploring the geometry of nature and changing light from dusk to dawn. Her paintings and designs exude a sense of connectivity between all living things using colour, pattern and form.
